The new Mercedes-Benz CLS 400 has received a 9 speed automatic transmission. Additionally, it is now possible to plug smartphones using USB cables instead of the outdated proprietary Mercedes Benz plug.
The CLS 400 is fronted by a large star grille which is also flanked by an optional full LED headlights. The newly designed Mercedes Benz CLS sports LED headlights, LED running lights, and also 18″ alloy wheels, a sunroof and automatic wipers. A Premium 1 package is available and features power folding mirrors and a rear view camera. A premium 2 package which features automatic high beam control, LED automatic headlights and a power rear sunshade is also available
Interior Features and Technology
The interior of the new model not only offers technology but also the lavishness that one would expect in such a highly priced vehicle. The vehicles cockpit features near perfect ergonomic and a rather solid tactile feel. The seats are bolstered and designed for both long-distance and spirited driving so you’re guaranteed comfort.
Engine and Fuel Economy
The new Mercedes Benz CLS is powered by a 3.0l V6 engine which delivers an estimated 329 horsepower and 354 pound per feet of torque. A 7 speed automatic transmission is offered as standard. The EPA fuel economy for the base model is estimated at 21 mpg i.e 17 city and 26 high way.
The CLS 400 comes standard with front side, knee, and pelvic airbags as well as full length side curtains. The sports car also has antilock brakes included as standard. Other standard safety features available in the CLS include a forward collision warning system and a driver inattention warning system.
