The 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 is a 5-passenger double cab that comes in six different trim levels. Notable changes include a bigger cab with a larger, lighter, and stronger frame. The surprises don’t stop there though.
The new 2019 Dodge Ram has dropped 225 pounds. It also has massive 14.9-inch front brakes for 18-inch wheels and a logo redesign. There is also improved lighting thanks to the three headlamps: LED, halogen, and adaptive LED. The traditional mast antenna has been replaced with a shark fin antenna. A new panoramic sunroof for ten square feet of natural lighting is also an option.
The cabin features increased space and comfort. The upper glove box and lockable lower glove box have been revamped. There are differing levels of luxury depending on the trim selected. Push-button start, redesigned gear shifter dial, and an electronic parking brake come standard for all trims.
Blind spot monitoring even with a trailer attached, forward collision warning sensors, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning sensors, and a 360-degree camera view of the truck are all included. More than 20 sensors are integrated and hidden away in the design.
Features included here are also dictated by the trim level selected. The 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 standard features include 25% more airflow from the HVAC system, Uconnect 4C navigation on a touchscreen, 12V outletm, and sunglass tray. Trim options include a larger display screen, five USB ports (original and type-C), wireless charging, and a rambox for running power tools.
2019 Dodge Ram 1500 options available are a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 producing 305 HP, 269 lb.-ft. of torque; and a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 producing 395 HP, 410 lb.-ft. of torque. The latter boasts of improved fuel efficiency; the Hemi has an eTorque feature that supplies an additional 130 lb.-ft. of torque from a 48V system of batteries. Both batteries are paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox with over forty shift maps.
