What’s New?
The 2016 Mazda CX-5 has received minor styling tweaks, revised suspension tuning, improved interior materials, an updated infotainment interface and added sound insulation. New available options include adaptive cruise control, LED headlights, a lane departure warning and Bluetooth which are standard throughout the trim levels.
Exterior Design
The Mazda CX was the first ever model to enjoy the company’s Soul of the Motion (Kodo) styling philosophy. With that said, the Mazda CX-5 is indeed a compact crossover vehicle which features a slightly forward stance and muscular curves which gives the vehicle to appear more athletic. Dual exhausts and rear roof spoiler are offered as standard. The base model sports 17 inch alloy wheels while the Grand Touring receives 19 inch alloy wheels.

Interior Design and Technology
The base model comes with air conditioning, full power accessories, a tilt and telescoping steering wheel, and also a 4 speaker sound system. The Sport trim comes with a 7″ touchscreen interface, HD radio, a multi-function controller knob, and Pandora internet radio too. The Touring trim comes with a keyless ignition, and an upgraded cloth upholstery and also a leather wrapped steering wheel.
Engine and Fuel Economy
The Mazda CX-5 sport comes with two powertrains. The first powertrain is a 2.4l 4 cylinder engine which delivers as estimated 155 horsepower and 150 pound per feet of torque. The second powertrain is a 2.5l 4-cylinder engine which delivers an estimated 184 horsepower and 185 pound per feet of torque. The EPA fuel economy for the 2.0l is estimated at 29mpg combined i.e. 26 city and 35 highway.

Safety
The standard safety features for the 2016 model include antilock disc brakes, front side airbags and stability and traction control. Optional for the Sport is the automatic crash notification system. Other standard safety features include a Smart City Brake Support system which uses a laser sensor to identify stationery objects.
