What’s New?

The 2016 Acura RDX is a 2-row SUV and is a clear example of the abilities of Acura. It is driver centered, with a crisp feel, and a modern cabin and there are also several luxury amenities. Here’s the kicker; it’s also practical and fuel-efficient. While value is not always something you getting in a luxury car, the RDX boasts one of the best standard equipment in its class.

Exterior Features

Design modifications to the 2016 RDX include a standard redesigned grille, LED headlights and taillights, and refreshed front and rear bumpers having an emerging trapezoidal Acura-styling cue. 18″ aluminum-wheel styles are also available, including an optional styling with a diamond-cut varnish. The RDX comes available in 7 different colors including crystal black pearl, and basque red pearl ii.

Interior Features

Updates to the cabin of RDX include fresh rear air vents for rear-seat passengers and also a standardized power tailgate. Currently, leather seats are no longer standard and therefore only included in the Advance and Technology option packages.

Technology

If you select the technology package the RDX comes fitted with a fresh dual-screen infotainment system. The upper-screen is used for communication, navigation, and car setting functions as the lower screen is mainly used for audio functions. Distinct climate controls reside under the lower screen.

Engine/ Fuel Efficiency

Driving the 2016 Acura RDX is a 3.5-liter V6 engine which puts out 279 horsepower. A 6-speed automatic transmission is also standard. According to the EPA, the RDX earns up to 20/29 MPG city/highway which is typical for its class.

Safety

In addition to providing the AcuraWatch option package, Acura have strengthened the underlying structure of the RDX. The new updates, according to Acura, are anticipated to generate a five-star overall crash-test rating from the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) and a “Top Safety Choice” rating from the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety).
