The 2016 Acura TLX is the first new mid-sized coming from Acura for quite some time now. The car will have its fans pleased with its added amount of edge alongside the fresh aesthetic and a number of new high tech feature that offer some fantastic convenience for the driver.

Exterior Features

The base TLX now comes standard with 17″ alloy wheels, LED headlights and taillights. Drivers have great sight range with the Jewel Eye LED headlights which are precisely focused with a wide beam. The midsize is available in 7 different colors including; crystal black pearl, basque red pearl, and a slate silver metallic.

Interior Features

There are 4 different interior options to choose from including a parchment, gray, espresso, or ebony upholstery. The cabin is especially quiet; the windshield is made from sound-absorbing glass and the doors are triple sealed. The front seats are 10-way power adjustable and have lumbar support. There are 3 levels of heating in both front seats and you can add ventilation with the advance package. The cargo area comes with a deep storage bin under the floor and with the folding rear seats you can extend the cargo space even more if you need!


The 2016 Acura TLX comes fitted with a rearview camera, a moonroof, proximity key, voice-activated Siri Eyes Free for iPhone, push-button start, dual-zone automatic climate control, a USB port, Bluetooth, smartphone application integration (including Pandora), satellite radio, a dual-screen infotainment system (with a display-only screen and a touch screen) and a 7-speaker stereo.

Engine/ Fuel Efficiency

The Acura TLX comes with the 206HP, 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine, and an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. A 3.5-liter V6 engine which generates 290HP is available on the V-6 and SH-AWD models and its matched with a 9-speed automatic transmission.

Also, the Acura TLX comes standard with Economy, Normal, Sport and the Sport+ driving modes. Every mode changes throttle response, power steering assistance and transmission shift points. The EPA-estimated rating is at 24/35 MPG city/highway that is just beyond average for the class.

Safety systems across the TLX line include anti-lock brakes, stability control, and traction control. Side curtain, side, front, and knee airbags for driver are all standard. Forward collision warning, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic monitoring, front and rear parking sensors, and pre-collision braking are all safety features too.
