Exterior
While not ugly, there’s also nothing spectacular about the 2014 B-Class exterior. The 5-door hatchback doesn’t have a unique body style, although the LED accents on the headlights that accentuate the similarities between the B-Class and other Mercedes models, like the S-Class for example. The exterior doesn’t come off as an extremely “Electric Drive” concept but doesn’t separate itself from the pack based on exterior either.

Interior
The new Mercedes B-Class comes equipped with solid interior finishings; the top and doors are covered in soft materials, while plastic makes up the lower parts and console. A vibrant digital monitor sticks out from the top of the dash, above vents and the other controls. Seating is generally roomy and comfortable, but the high floor in the rear may limit passenger legroom. There’s lots of space for cargo.
Engine
This vehicle comes with a 177-horsepower electric motor, used to drive the front wheels. Produced by Tesla, the motor goes from 0-60 mph in slightly less than eight seconds. A 28-kWh lithium-ion battery ensures around 85 miles of driving range and can be charged to 60 miles of range in roughly 2 hours using a Level 2 (40-amp) charger. A full charge takes 3.5 hours.

Technology/ Safety
The Mercedes B-Class comes with a variety of technology features that also double as safety precautions. For example, Collision Prevention Assist warns if the driver is going to rear-end someone, and Active Parking Assist tells owners if they can parallel into certain spots. Attention Assist knows if the driver gets, and a dashboard warning prompts them to stop driving. Other safety equipment includes front, side and side-curtain airbags, and a knee airbag for the driver to prevent leg injuries.
