The 2016 Mitsubishi I-MIEV offers no new features this year other than an optional navigation system. The low price point is sure to grab attention for anyone looking to purchase a brand new electronic vehicle! The vehicle also features a 3 quick charging port and a climate control system. There is also an optional navigation package which entails a rear view camera, 7 inch screen, audio and Bluetooth connectivity.
This Mitsubishi comes standard with halogen-projected headlights, halogen fog lights, Side fender running lights and rear combination LED taillights. There is a roof-mounted antennae and heated outer mirrors on the EV. The vehicle comes in metallic aqua blue, metallic silver, white pearl and black pearl.
The I-MIEV comes standard equipped with an electric air-conditioner with pollen filter, power windows and seats, remote-less key entry and an electric cabin heater. The MIEV also has a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob. The rear seat reclines and splits open 50/50.
The standard model includes a CHAdeMO charging port. This port allows the MIEV to quick charge at certain stations and reach 80% of its charge in under half of an hour. The front seats inside the vehicle are heated and have manual controls. The sound system comes equipped with six premium speakers.
Engine/ Fuel Efficiency
An AC synchronous permanent magnetic motor powers this Mitsubishi. This pushes the electric vehicle with 66 horsepower and 145 lb. –ft. of torque. The engine is water-cooled and has a max RPM of 9900. The EPA fuel efficiency is 112 MPGe.
The standard model of the MIEV comes with front and side mounted impact airbags, roof-mounted curtain airbags, three-point seat belts, and active stability control. The security system and engine immobilizing system work in tandem to prevent theft.
