The 2016 model of the BMW i3 is a small step in change from the 2015 model. While the internals have been upgraded and tweaked, the look and feel of the 2016 model is strikingly similar to its previous counterpart. Engineered with lightweight carbon and aluminum fiber, and driven by an electric motor, the BMW is currently one of the most distinctive cars on the road. Apart from being user friendly, the BMW is also a sharp driving vehicle that can work extremely well for a majority of electric vehicle shoppers.

Exterior Features

This year’s model of the BMW i3 comes in Capparis white, fluid black, ionic silver metallic, mineral gray, platinum silver and solar orange metallic. The car comes equipped with 19” alloy wheels and very low profile, all-season tires. The patented blue trim designs for BMW make an appearance in the front grill and alongside the side trim. Large amounts of the back, top, and sides of the vehicle are made up of glass windows.

Interior Features

It is easy to stay comfortable in this car no matter the season with its Multi-level heating driver and passenger seats. Take advantage of the interior air filtration, climate control and extended cabin heating. The i3 features a leather steering wheel, memory setting for the touch screen media and climate control, The split back seats open up to provide access and extra cargo space.

Technology

The BMW i3 comes loaded with top of the line technology. With a built-in BMW i connected drive navigation system and the easy to read touch screen panel controls this car is sure to keep you on track. This model comes packed with other technological standard features like parking assistance, keyless entry, power windows, external temperature display, built in mirror turn signals, satellite radio and wireless Bluetooth hands-free calling. The extended range addition is also available for purchase to get a longer charge for further distance.

Engine/ Fuel Efficiency

The electric engine on this i3 sports model is capable of 170 horsepower and 184 lb-ft torque. The engine accelerates the car from 0-60 MPH in 7 seconds. The one-speed direct drive transmission makes control easier than ever. This model comes with rear wheel drive. The overall MPGe on a full charge is 117 miles.

Safety

There are Dual front side-mounted airbags, emergency braking assist, engine immobilizer, ventilated disk brakes, 4 wheel ABS and stability traction control. This along with the parking assist package and carbon fiber reinforced frame makes for a safer BMW.
