With up to 19″ wheels, and a rear spoiler as standard on the 2016 convertible model, there is definitely a sportier look to the Beetle. Available exterior features include R-line front and rear bumpers and Bi-Xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights. It retains the classic Beetle look with a more sporty addition. It comes in a huge array of colors and finishes giving you plenty of room to personalize your Beetle.
V-Tex leatherette covered, heated seats ensure you a comfortable ride and keep you warm when you drop the soft top. The rear seating is 50/50 split folding giving you more space for cargo or passengers depending on what you need. There is a multi-functioning sport steering wheel which allows you control over the sound system, and other technical features without your hands need to leave the wheel.
As standard the 2016 model has included driver assistance features such as blind spot monitoring and rear traffic alert. There is a touchscreen sound system which has Bluetooth connectivity capabilities and a USB port for charging or connecting devices without Bluetooth capabilities.
Engine/ Fuel Efficiency
The turbocharged, 1.8 liter 4-cylinder TSI engine boasts 170 horsepower and a 25 city/ 34 highway MPG as per EPA fuel efficiency standards. There is a 6-speed automatic transmission which is equipped with Tiptronic and Sport mode.
As standard, the 2016 Beetle is equipped with ABS, Anti-Slip Regulation, electronic stability control, electronic brake pressure distribution and engine braking assist. The airbag system is also equipped with passenger occupant detection which allows airbags to be deployed with appropriate force depending on the passenger and/ or driver’s size and weight.
