The Volvo XC70 was initially placed on the auto market in 2007. The station wagon has captured attention of new, and former customers alike and sales have increased hugely. There have been changes made to the exterior and inside you will discover many modern functions. The total weight of the car has also been reduced, improving performance as well as reducing fuel economy. In the 2016 mode the fold down front passenger has been dropped.

Exterior Design

As a small crossover SUV, the 2016 Volvo XC60 is available in 5 trim levels; T5 AWD, T5 DRIVE-E, T6 DRIVE-E, T6 AWD R-DESIGN and the T6 AWD. The T5 AWD and the T5 Drive E features 18″ alloy wheels, front and rear fog lights and automatic headlights.



Interior Design and Technology

The XC60 T5 Drive-E comes with dual zone climatic control system, driver seat memory functions, 8 way power front seats, leather wrapped tilt and telescoping steering wheels and a 40-20-40 split folding rear seat. The technology features available include the automatic braking systems, low speed forward collision warning, 7 inch center display, smartphone application integration and Volvo’s On Call system.

Engine and Fuel Efficiency

The T5-Drive E features a 2.0 turbocharged engine which is capable of producing an estimated 240 horsepower and 258 pound per feet of torque. Eight wheel automatic transmission and front wheel drive are standard together with an automatic stop start system which shuts the engine so as to save fuel. The EPA estimated fuel economy the 2016 Volvo XC60 is 26 mpg combined i.e. 23 city and 31 highway. The 2016 XC60 T5 AWD features a 2.5 turbocharged 5 cylinder engine which is capable of producing an estimated 250 horsepower and 266 pound per feet f torque. The EPA estimated fuel economy for this model is 22 mpg combined i.e. 19 city and 26 highway.

All Volvo XC60s come with traction and stability control as standard together with antilock, front seat airbags and whiplash protection front seats. Volvo’s city safety standard is also optional. Additional safety equipment such as dual two stage integrated booster safety are optional. Another safety feature is Volvo’s Blind Spot Information System Package which comes with a rear traffic alert and a blind sport warning system.
