What’s New?

The Prius v is unchanged for 2016. The CVT all-wheel-drive Toyota Prius is still quite impressive. The engine is capable of generating 127 lb-ft of torque and 138 horsepower. So while it may look very much the same, you will certainly feel the difference in the power while still saving on fuel.

Exterior Features

The notable exterior features include a spare tire mounted inside under the cargo, clearcoat paint, body-colored front bumper, body-colored rear bumper, black side windows trim, and also body-colored door handles. There is also body-colored power heated side mirrors w/manual folding, fixed rear window w/fixed interval wiper and defroster, and light tinted glass. There are variable intermittent wipers, galvanized steel/aluminum panels, lip spoiler, and a black grille too. The Prius v comes available in 10 different colors including sea glass pearl, brick red, and more.

Interior Features

The base 2016 Prius v now comes standard with a proximity key, automatic climate control, push-button start, a rearview camera and the Entune Audio infotainment system of Toyota with the 6.1″ touchscreen, Bluetooth, a 6-speaker audio system and the USB port. Higher trims also come with an Entune Premium Audio infotainment system that includes navigation, satellite radio, HD Radio, and the Entune App Suite with apps such as Yelp and Pandora. The Prius V with the Improved Technology package includes a pre-collision safety system (that tightens the initiates braking and seatbelts when any crash is deemed inevitable) and Safety Connect telematics system of Toyota (that includes a stolen-vehicle locator and emergency assistance).

Engine/ Fuel Efficiency

EPA-estimated fuel-economy for the Toyota Prius v is 44 MPG city/40 highway. That is a perfect result in a test consisting of majorly highway driving. The Prius v uses normal-grade gas.   Most Toyota models have been designed to share the same 1.8L i-VTEC four-cylinder engine and the Prius is no different. The engine is capable of generating 127 lb-ft of torque and 138 horsepower.
