The 2017 Ford Edge is one of the most practical crossovers on the market. It dries like a sedan with space for 5 passengers comfortably. There haven’t been many changes to the 2017 Ford Edge, as it was completely revamped back in 2015.

Exterior

The Edge gets a huge chrome plated grille which is flanked by LED headlights. Below the grille is a large bumper coordinated with LED mist lights. This bumper is additionally incorporated with an altered air admission to direct the cooling air to the motor. New for 2017 though is the windshield wiper with de-icer included in the Cold Weather package. The Edge is also now available in more colors and comes standard with 18″ wheels.

Interior

With 2 rows, and ample space for 5 adults, the Edge is pretty comfortable. With the rear seats folded, cargo space increases from 39.2 cubic feet to 73.4. Rather than adaptive buttons, the 2017 model has opted for hard buttons to control audio and climate. They’re easy-to-use and aimed at making it easier for the driver to control.

Safety

The safety features for the 2017 Ford Edge consists of double stage airbags, second-row safety covering, and side-influence airbag. There is also door integrated knee airbags and also the drivers’ knee airbag. Furthermore, it also includes child safety locks.

Technology

Technology in the 2017 Ford Edge includes keyless entry and push to start, a rearview camera, and also a 6-speaker audio system. If you want to upgrade to the SEL model (an extra $3,000) you can avail of power driver and passenger seats, a reverse parking aid and satellite radio too.

Engine

There are three powerful engine options to choose from.As standard is the 2.0L Inline-4 turbocharged engine. It has a capacity for 245 hp and a fuel economy rating of 20/30 city/ highway or 34 MPG combined.

The 3.5L V6 comes with the SEL and Titanium trims, has 280 hp and a fuel efficiency rating of 18/ 26 city/ highway or 22 MPG combined.

Finally, the 2.7L twin-turbocharged V6 comes available with the Sport trim. It can produce up to 315 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque. EPA ratings stand at 17/24 city/highway or 20 MPG combined. The Sport trim starts at $40,400 (about $12,000 more than the base model).
